Art & EnvironmentPrepares and executes decorating of the church for the liturgical seasons. Baptism PreparationPreparing parents for the baptismal liturgy and formation of their child’s faith. Bereavement SupportMeets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month and assists those in the grieving process. Blessed Virgin Mary SodalityFosters devotion to Mary and strives to be a spiritual and financial organization that supports the church with its functions. Book Clubmeets monthly to discuss relevant topics presented in suggested books. Children’s Liturgy of the Word PresiderLeads the Children’s Liturgy of the Word and prepares a reflection on the Sunday readings. Chowder and StationsHeld on the Friday evenings of Lent at 6PM in the rectory conference room (dinner) and at 7PM in the lower church (Stations of the Cross). Clerical
Mailings: provides support for folding, collating, envelope stuffing, etc. on an as-needed basis. Confirmation & Religious Education TeachersHelps pass on the faith to children in grades 1-10. Extraordinary Minister of Holy CommunionDistributes the Body of Christ to the Body of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound. Eucharistic AdorationMondays and Tuesdays from 9:00AM to 5:00PM in Our Lady Chapel. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who sign up for one hour or more to pray before the Lord Jesus present in the monstrance. Finance CouncilAdvises the pastor on financial matters of the parish. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets. Food BasketsNon perishable foods are collected at the back of the church after every Mass and are donated to the Quincy Interfaith Social Services Food Bank.. Funeral Preparation TeamWorks directly with families to prepare the funeral liturgy and to accompany them through the funeral rites. Giving Tree ProjectAn Advent/Christmas project to support My Brother’s Keeper. Greater Quincy Men’s Prayer GroupPrays weekly at 6pm on Thursday evenings in the lower church. Mass is celebrated on the firs Thursday of the month. GreetersParish volunteers who assist ushers in warmly welcoming parishioners and guests as they enter the church for Mass. Home and Hospital VisitationVolunteer Eucharistic Ministers who bring the Eucharist to registered parishioners who are homebound. Hospitality SundayA ministry on the first Sunday of every month from September through June that is carrieid out by the other ministries of the parish. Each ministry is assigned a month, and prepares/serves coffee and pastries and cleans up after the 4pm and Sunday morning Masses. A great way to get to know one another is when we share food and conversation. Lectors & Children’s Liturgy LectorsProclaim the Scripture readings at Sunday Mass and other services. Legion of Marymembers serve by practicing the spiritual works of mercy directed towards all men and women, young and old, rich and poor. |

Protecting God’s ChildrenAll of the clergy, office staff, and every volunteer is required to attend a Virtus—Protecting God’s Children training session, an archdiocese sponsored program which teaches an awareness of those persons and situations which could endanger our children. The state also requires volunteers to submit a yearly CORI form. RCIARite of Christian Initiation – preparation of adult candidates for Catholic sacraments. Recording MinistryHelps to prepare audio recordings of Mass for distribution to the housebound and posting to the parish website. Sacred Heart of Jesus Prayer GroupPrays weekly on Wednesday mornings in the lower church meeting room. St. Vincent de Paul SocietyStrives to administer to the poor and needy of the parish. The work of the society is funded by contributions and a yearly second collection. Senior Altar ServerMen and women who assist at Mass or Funeral Masses to enhance the worship of our faith community. Social Justice CommissionA newly formed group to put our Catholic faith into practical action for the good of the poor and those in need. UshersAssist people to their seat if necessary.They take up the offertory collection at Mass and greet those on their way into the church for Mass. Vocation CrucifixRotating list of volunteers who pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
