Minutes from the meeting held on September 28, 2004.
The meeting began with a Scripture reading and the parish prayer.

Reconfiguration Update:
We received a packet from the transition team including the following: 
· October 4- Listening Session for Star of the Sea parishioners to be held  at Sacred Heart at 7PM
· October 12- Meeting for Sacred Heart parishioners to be held  at Sacred Heart at 7PM
· October 30- Welcome Masses with hospitality and tours of the parish
· Discussion about a shuttle bus from Star of the Sea.   It was decided to wait to assess the need.

Adult Education:
· The Book Discussion group will meet on October 24 from 7PM until 8:30PM.   There will be a presentation and discussion by Father Christopher Kirwan on the book Faithful Citizenship in the lower church.  An item will be placed in the bulletin.

· Morning of Prayer for Women with Jamie Wolfe on October 2, 9AM until 2:00 PM
· Film Discussions:  Wednesdays: October 20 - Romero (based on the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero), November 17 –Shadowlands

School Updates:
Principal Marcinkus was pleased with the smooth opening of the school.  The new K1 program has had a successful beginning.  There is a need for additional help with the Tuesday afternoon extended program. 

There was a discussion about making the side street between the school and church one way.  There is a lot of congestion and confusion at drop off and dismissal times.  It is a safety issue. Kevin Coughlin made several suggestions as to how to go about this.

Religious Education Program:
Marjory O’Day reported that the religious education program has been overenrolled.   Because of the large registration, some of the students have had to be taught by parents.  The present enrollment is 266 with 12 of these student being home taught. Teachers are still needed.

Newsletter: It has been decided to table the newsletter until the transition is completed.  

The meeting closed with a prayer.
