Minutes from the meeting held on October 26, 2004
The meeting began with a Scripture reading and the parish prayer.

Reconfiguration Update-
Maureen Conway reported for the Transition team including the following information:
October 30-31-Welcoming Weekend for Mary, Star of the Sea parishioners to be held at all masses at Sacred Heart
Welcoming packets will be handed out to each family
Welcoming signs were placed outside Sacred Heart and Mary, Star of the Sea
There will be hospitality and a PTO bake sale.
Invitations were mailed to each parishioner from Mary, Star of the Sea
Invitations to the next council meeting will be extended to members of Mary, Star of the Sea Parish Council

Adult Formation/Education-
Twenty one people were present at the presentation on the book Faithful Citizenship by Father Christopher Kerwin.
The Saturday Morning of Prayer for Women with Jamie Wolfe was also well attended.
The Book Discussion group will meet on November 28 at 7PM. “Tuesdays with Morrie” by Mitch Albom. An item will be placed in the bulletin.

November 17 –Shadowlands

School Updates
Principal Marcinkus spoke about the incident at Citizens Bank. Both the school nurse, Mrs. Carlson and the guidance counselor, Mr. Tobin were very helpful at the scene. The school secretary immediately called 911. The school was put into lock down mode. A letter was sent home to parents concerning the situation and allaying their fears.
Principal Marcinkus spoke of the death of the Grade 1 teacher, Mrs. Pauline Donavan. There will be no school on Wednesday so that school staff could attend the funeral Mass. Grief counselors will be on hand at the school on Thursday for both students and parents. Donations in Mrs. Donavan’s memory will be used for playground equipment.

The meeting closed with a prayer.
