June 2005 Meeting Minutes

Minutes from the meeting held on June 28, 2005

The meeting began with a Scripture reading and the parish prayer.

Reconfiguration Update:

  • Transportation Ministry- 6 people responded who needed rides.  We will list this information in the bulletin and/or speak at the Masses.
  • Fall Listening Session sponsored by the Parish Pastoral Council is scheduled for October 5 at 6:45.
  • Star of the Sea will be open for 1 Sunday Mass.   St. Ann’s will be second welcoming parish and will provide priest for weekly Mass.  Father O’Brien received this news at 1:40 PM on 6/28.

 

Adult Formation/Education:

  • Films- 7:30 pm, lower church: July 26-“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” August 3- “Dead Man Walking”
  • The Book Discussion group will meet on September 25 at 7PM.  “Mountains Beyond Mountains” An item will be placed in the bulletin.

Items:

  • Principal of Sacred Heart School-Mrs. Katherine Hunter will become the new principal starting in July. She will be working on enrollment, faculty bonds, and interfacing with the community. It was suggested that an introduction by letter, bulletin or coffee hour be made.
  • Parish Nurse Program is on hold until September.
  • Parish Pastoral Terms- Peter Jae will end his term at this meeting. We will search for an Asian representative. Rick Rossi is also leaving as he has moved. Debbie Riordan, Norma Murphy, Angela Marre will continue. We will be seeking 2 new members through the bulletin.
  • CAP Program- Angela Marre and Rosemary Feeney will be trained in the program and will train others.
  • Parish Newsletter-There was discussion of creating an e-newsletter.
  • NASA Program- George Clisham was recognized for his work with the students of Sacred Heart School and their NASA projects.  An article appeared in the Patriot Ledger.

The meeting closed with a prayer.
