Minutes from the meeting held on January 23, 2007.

The meeting began with a Scripture reading and the parish prayer.

Minutes of November 27, 2006 meeting were accepted.

Listening Session Update:

Facilitators Report-

• Liturgy – Howard Lotis
Howard presented a sheet with many liturgical items form the Parish Listening Session.  Some can be implemented soon; others need to be worked on.   We will have a rack with literature at the back of the church.  New altar servers will be welcomed in the bulletin and we will seek others. We want to encourage Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers to greet people at the back of the Church before Mass.   Father will give a report from the altar.

• Youth - Norma Murphy
Norma spoke to Office of Youth Ministry and the Youth Minister at St. Ann’s.  We will begin by looking for volunteers interested in working with middle school students.  There will be a steering committee set up.

• Community- Joan Matthews
Joan talked about several events in which we could participate as a parish.  We will be looking for volunteers to assist. 

Norma Murphy talked about a seminar that she and Rosemary Kubera had attended.  It was called “Welcoming, Engaging and Affirming.”  She felt that this would tie in with our work.  We may try to have one at Sacred Heart with other parishes joining.

The meeting closed with a prayer.

The next Parish Council meeting will be held on February 27 at 7:30 PM at the rectory.
