Minutes from the meeting held on September 25, 2007

The meeting began with the Parish Prayer.

Minutes of May 22 meeting were accepted.

 Status of Arise
We had an introductory parish meeting about this program earlier in the month.  It takes place in a home setting with a small adult faith community.  It consists of study and prayer using RENEW materials.  It is an opportunity to deepen our faith.  The program runs on a three year cycle of six weeks in the fall and spring. The actual program will begin in September, 2008.  Prior to that time, small groups will have training. 

Update from Youth Ministry Steering Committee
- We will be having a parish meeting with John Bettinelli from the Archdiocese Office. It will take place on Thursday, October 18^th at 7:00 PM in the lower church.
- Matthew Coughlin spoke to the Council about the Life Teen Program at St. Mary’s Church in Hanover.  He was very enthusiastic and had many suggestions for the Sacred Heart Program

Update Liturgy Committee
There will be a reorganization of the committee. 

Adult Outreach/ Social Activities
- Book Club –The Glass Castle, A Memoir by Jeanette Walls will be discussed on Sunday, October 21 at 7:00 PM.
- "Wicked” on Thursday, October 25^th. We will leave Sacred Heart at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $50 and includes transportation.

Convocation of Priests on September 14, 2007
450 priests met with Bishop Robert Hennessey.  The topic of the convocation was the “Impact on Ministry during the Last Five Years.”

Other Issues
An item will be placed in the bulletin seeking new Parish Council members           

The meeting closed with a prayer.
