Minutes from the meeting held on October 30, 2007

The meeting began with an opening prayer read by Tricia Graeber.

Minutes of September 25 meeting were accepted.

Welcome to our new Parish Council members: Matthew Coughlin, Edith Donovan, Tricia Graeber, and Connie Stoeckel.             

Update of process for Youth Ministry
- We had a parish meeting with John Bettinelli from the Archdiocese Office.   It took place on Thursday, October 18^th at 7:00 PM in the lower church.
- Pastoral Council decided that more legwork was needed.  There must be more communication through PTO groups, parish bulletins.
- We are going to target the following groups for a survey: Middle school (6-8) Sacred Heart School and (6-8) CCD classes.
- Many suggestions were made for different kinds of events to begin our work with youth ministry such as a benefit concert for middle school

Update on Grand Annual
We have not reached our goal, though we are more than halfway. 

Adult Outreach/ Social Activities
- Book Club –The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis will be discussed on Sunday, November 18 7:00 PM.
- “Wicked” on Thursday, October 25^th was a success and a sellout.   

Morning Prayer for Liturgical Ministers 
The morning was well attended.  The service was led by Sister Dorothy Welch.  She is a wonderful, prayerful speaker.

Meeting on the South Shore
There will be a meeting held on November 29, Thursday in Scituate.  The topic is the Role of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council.

The meeting closed with a prayer led by Tricia Graeber.
