February 2008 Meeting Minutes

Minutes from the meeting held on February 26, 2008

The meeting began with an Opening Prayer.

Minutes of the December 11 and January 22 meetings were accepted.

Update on the Youth Ministry Event
The first event was a Pizza and Movie night. It was held on February 19, 6-9 PM in the lower church.  The movie was “Evan Almighty.” Seventeen young people attended and enjoyed themselves. Matthew Coughlin gave an overview of the program. A list of possible future events was generated from the group. The list included bowling, a dance, game night, arts and crafts and sports. Admission was 1 can of soup for Food Pantry at Interfaith Social Services.  

Update on ARISE
Training for the core committee has begun.

Evaluation of the Lenten Morning of Prayer held on Saturday, February 23
The response was positive. Tricia Graeber led the morning. It was well attended and enthusiastically received. Another morning will be scheduled for the Advent season.

Increased Offertory
There has been a good response to the letters mailed in early February.  There has been an increase of $1,600.

The Pastoral Planning Report for the Archdiocese of Boston may be found on the lower right hand side of the Archdiocesan web page, www.rcab.org. It is a valuable document that will help us prepare for the future of the Archdiocese.
