Minutes from the meeting held on May 27, 2008

The meeting began with an opening prayer.

Meeting Agenda
The May meeting was both a wrap up and preplanning session. There was discussion as to our accomplishments of the year, in particular the Youth Ministry. It has been off to a great start thanks to the hard work of the Event Committee. We are also trying to become more immersed in the Pastoral Plan for the Archdiocese of Boston. Information about the plan can be found on our website www.sacredheartquincy.org.

The council then discussed our plans for the fall of 2008. We will review the listening session notes from last year. We will respond in writing to the efforts accomplished. There will be an explanation as to why some items have not been addressed. Plans will be made to have another listening session.

Cardinal Sean’s Email Initiative
Cardinal Sean has launched a new way of communicating with Catholics in the Boston Archdiocese.  Parishioners can sign up for a weekly email from the Pilot and Cardinal Sean. To sign up, go to www.Boston200.org. It is simple and takes about a minute.

Update on the Youth Ministry
The event committee is planning a Game Night on May 30. Grades 6, 7, and 8 are invited. The theme is team building. There will be games that build trust and teamwork. The committee will meet on May 20 to finalize plans.
